Eek! An Unintended Hiatus...

Well. Yikes. I'm sorry. I can't believe it's been about two months since I last posted on here...

I got sort of lazy, I guess. And distracted.

Here's a quick run-through to get you up-to-date:

- there was Christmas

- then there was New Year's

- I got fired from one of my part-time jobs (not horrible - more like when you're dating someone you're not that in to, but then they break up with you first...)

- as a direct result, I decided I'm going back to working for that same big documentary film festival I worked for last year (my contract starts in two weeks)

- I'm almost done this second draft of my pilot, LUCY GRIER; soon I'll be sending it out to friends to be read again

- I GOT MY FIRST-EVER PAID WRITING GIG!!! (It's just narration for a corporate video, but at least now I can say I'm a professional writer.)

- I started a new blog about my dating life, called The 31-Year-Old Virgin. People seem to like it so far.

- I "won" my Oscar pool (thanks to help from the New York Times - although, technically, I came in second - but the winner was my friend who was running the pool, and owned the bar we had our party in, so he decided to give the prize to the person who came in 2nd...). This means I got a bunch of free movie vouchers - guess what all my upcoming dates will be revolving around? ;)

And that's about it. Stay tuned; I'm going to start updating on here more regularly again.

A really good explanation for why CBS has cancelled the rest of this year's season of Two and a Half Men:

  1. Hi Diane!

My name is Amanda Katz and I am a film student in New York seeking a summer internship. I had this grand idea to intern at Protozoa Pictures and when I did a simple google search your LinkedIn Profile came up stating that you once held an internship there. I know this is crazy-random, but I was just wondering if you could give me some advice or even let me know how you went about getting such an awesome internship and possibly point me in the right direction, or maybe let me know whether you had a positive experience there or not.

Anyways, thank you for your time,
    Amanda
