The end is near...

I mean of my homelessness, of course.

I've found a new place - a GREAT place - with a great new roommate (whom I shall henceforth refer to as A). A and I will have a nice two-bedroom apartment in Bloor West Village. It has hardwood floors AND trim, a fireplace (not to be used), a balcony (it's top-floor of a house), a big kitchen, lots of windows, big bedrooms, a backyard, free laundry and storage in the basement, and great landlords.

And I will be paying LESS to live there than I was paying to live in the other place. Neat-o.
I've also gotten 2 (count 'em - TWO) part-time jobs. One's at a bookstore less than a 10-minute bike ride from my new apartment. (Where I get a 40% discount!)

The other's at a butcher where they only sell meat from local, socially conscious farms (antibiotic and hormone-free, grass-fed beef, pork, and poultry; free-range eggs; and organic milk and butter). Not only do I get a discount, but I get to take home anything that's at its "best before" date for free :)
So this is the end of this "experiment" as a homeless person. It's actually been kind of fun, since it's given me the chance to stay with different friends for extended periods of time and get to know them better. It's made me realize how great these friends really are.
Oh - and I've also joined a writing group, which meets every other Wednesday, and will hopefully keep me motivated to write (since that is, after all, the reason why I'm only getting part-time, minimum-wage work).

Anyway, this could have gone so much worse than it has, and I am really thankful that it didn't. So thank you all for your prayers (if you pray), and you will be hearing much more from me in the future!

FREAKS AND GEEKS, the entire series, on DVD. Finally. It's about time, right?

(And why did it ever get cancelled????)
